Bryan Idowu was in action for 90 minutes in Lokomotiv Moscow’s 2-0 away defeat to Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Champions league at Estadio Wanda Metropolitano on Wednesday.

Idowu, who returned to action for Lokomotiv for the first time since November, had a torrid time containing Atletico’s Joao Felix and Kieran Trippier.

It was the Nigeria International’s fourth appearance in the competition this season, but it was a game to forget for the entire team.

Alvaro Morata and Kieran Trippier both missed penalties on the night, but Joao Felix and Filipe scored the needed goals for Atletico as they qualified for the round of 16 and also finished top of the group.

The result left Lokomotiv Moscow bottom of the table and out of Europe this season, with just a win from six matches.
