Iwobi featured in Arsenal’s home defeat Palace.

Nigerian forward Alex Iwobi came on as a second substitute in the Gunners 3-2 defeat to Crystal Palace  at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

 

Iwobi came on for Konstantinos Mavropanos at the start of the second half and spark the Gunners attack to life, he was involved the Gunners first goal of the game .

 

Belgian striker Christian Benteke gave Crystal Palace the lead in the 17th minute heading in Luka Milivojevic cross to end his year-long goal drought from open play on his 200th Premier League appearance.

 

Mesut Ozil restored the parity for Arsenal after Iwobi and Alexander Lacazzette combined to set him up.

 

Ivorian forward Wilfried Zaha restored Palace’s lead just after the hour mark after a sloppy defending from Mustafi.

 

James McArthur added third goal for the Eagles from another set piece, before Pierre Emerick Aubameyang pulled one back late on for Arsenal, who missed a chance to move into third place.

 

The game was Iwobi’s 31st league appearance of the season for Arsenal and 11th of the season as a substitute.
