Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi was left embarrassed by fans after Everton fell to a 3-0 defeat away to Bournemouth at the Vitality stadium on Saturday.
The first goal came courtesy of a Jordan Pickford error, the English man spilled his save to the path of Marcus Tavernier who tapped in to give Bournemouth the lead in the 18th minute.
Bournemouth’s second came six minutes later after Everton struggled to clear the line after a brilliant save from Pickford and were picked out by Taverneir who headed the ball to the path of Kieffer Moore to nod home for the second.
The third goal came on the 69th minute as Jaidon Anthony got on the score sheet with a beautiful header just two minutes after his introduction.
It was an horror show from Frank Lampard and his players as the team struggled to muster any real attacking threat and were also lethargic in defense.
Fans were right to feel aggrieved as the defeat sees them dropped to 17th on the log just a point off relegation spot.
Iwobi and his teammates approached the stands to apologize to the travelling fans and the Nigerian went as far as gifting a fan his shirt.
But surprisingly, the shirt was thrown back at him as the fans vocally expressed their displeasure with the result.
Everton have now lost 3 games on the bounce and lost to Bournemouth twice in five days, the first defeat the 4-1 thumping in the EFL cup at the Vitality stadium.
