Super Eagles playmaker Alex Iwobi has urged his Arsenal teammates to forget their recent disappointments in the English Premier League (EPL) and move on.

The Gunners have recently suffered defeats to Crystal Palace and Wolverhampton Wanderers in the EPL.

On Wednesday night, the North London outfit were on the receiving end of a 3-1 defeat to Wolves at Molineux.

“Obviously it’s a tough one to take. It’s not a good result when we want to get in the top four, but we can’t dwell on it, we have to move on to the next game,” the Nigeria international said.

“Yeah, it’s [disappointing] but last time we had back-to-back [league] defeats, we went on an amazing run. We’ll look at that as a confidence boost, go back to training and just focus on the next game.”

Arsenal haven’t been impressive on the road this season and Iwobi replied: “I don’t know what it is, I can’t pinpoint it, otherwise we would have just sorted it out. I think it’s a mental thing – we just have to keep on fighting, keep on being together as a team and just focus again on the next game.”

The 22-year-old came through the ranks at Arsenal and has made over a century of senior appearances for the Gunners in all competitions.

Iwobi is very much in coach Unai Emery’s plans. He scored three times and registered seven assists in 39 appearances in all competitions for his London club during the 2017-18 campaign.
