Alex Iwobi helped Everton earn a hard-fought win over Watford in the Carabao Cup at the Goodison park on Tuesday.

Everton went into the clash at the back of their controversial defeat to Brighton in the premier at Amex on Saturday.

The Toffees struggled to break down the visitors who sat deep to defend and break on counter attack for most part of the game.

Silva’s men however hit the woodwork twice in quick succession, with Iwobi’s strike hitting the corner of the goal frame and Digne’s free-kick then deflecting against the bar.

The increased pressure paid off moments later as Holgate headed Everton in front, converting from Walcott’s cross.

Richarlison wrapped things up at the end as he burst into the box and cracked an emphatic effort beyond Gomes.
