It’s Unbelievable Nigeria lost to Central Africa Republic – Lawal

Former Nigeria midfielder Garba Lawal has described the defeat to the FIFA ranked 124th Central Africa Republic in the World Cup qualifiers on Thursday as unbelievable.

CAR snatched a late winner in a group C game after a defensive error played Kari Namnganda through on goal for the attacker to slot home the only goal of the match at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos.
Lawal, who spoke to Brila FM after the game expressed shock at the outcome, but admits that the Nigerian team didn’t do enough to deserve a point on the day.
‘They have to tell themselves the truth. In the dressing room they must look at themselves and accept responsibility for the outcome,’ said Garba Lawal in his summary of the game.
‘I never thought that they (Central Africa Republic) would ever come and defeat us here in Lagos.
‘But for them now, there’s a chance to right that wrong if they feel strongly about it. In the return leg in Cameroon they have a second chance.’
