Former Super Eagles striker, Obafemi Martins has described a big an impact his move to Europe was to his budding career as an aspiring young footballer.

Speaking on Brila FM’s Breakfast Show, No Holds Barred with Ifeanyi Udeze, Martins explained the difference in the exposure he got, once he moved abroad.

“It is not by kicking tyres, I saw that it was different when I got to Europe,” the former Inter Milan and Newcastle Striker said.

“I began to ask myself how they did it as they had better accuracy on their shots.

“I realized that the elite strikers practiced technique more. They train more for technique as the ball travels faster and further with technique and not strength.

“I knew I had the speed even before I left Nigeria, but when I got there, that was when I realized that I had it even better than I thought.”
