Odion Ighalo is excited to have landed his first silverware at club level after Shanghai Shenhua defeated Shandong Luneng 3-0 at the Hongkou Football Stadium on Friday to win the Chinese FA Cup title.
Ighalo and his teammates ended the season on a high after overturning a 1-0 deficit from the first leg to win 3-1 on aggregate against Shandong Luneng.
The Nigerian started the game from the bench and came in for Kim Shin-Wook seven minutes after the South-Korean attacker opened scoring for Shanghai Shenhua on the hour mark.
Stephane El Shaarawy added the second goal in the 81st minute while Gabonese midfielder Alexander N’Doumbou made it 3-0 seven minutes from time as the flower of Shanghai won the trophy for the fifth time.
Ighalo took to social media to express his gratitude after ending the year on a high.

The former Nigeria international scored ten goals in 17 league appearances for Shanghai Shenhua in the just-concluded season.
