Victor Boniface was shy in front of goal on Thursday night in Royale Union SG’s away match against Braga in the Europa League.

Boniface, who is one of the side’s most consistent players this season, was on for the entire duration of the match but fired blanks.

He has one goal and as many assist in three Europa League games for Royale Union SG in the current campaign.

In spite of the Nigerian’s lack of accuracy on the night, Royal Union SG snatched a three points, fighting their way back into the game after going behind.

A cagey first half gave way to a more fluid and ambitious play from both teams and it was the host who struck first.

Abel Ruiz (49′) opened the goals scoring, but Braga were pegged back with four minutes of regular time left to play.

Gustaf Nilsson scored the leveler and was again the hero as he found the back of the net in the fourth minute of stoppage time to steal the maximum points leaving the home fans at the Estádio Municipal de Braga stunned.

The battle between first and second in the group D of the Europa League ended with Royale Union SG steamrolling to a perfect 3 wins from 3 matches so far played.
