Injury mars Peter Olayinka’s Slavia Prague start to new league campaign


Peter Olayinka’s niggling muscle injury has cast a doubt on the player’s readiness for the new season.

Olayinka missed Slavia Prague’s latest league game against Mlada Boleslav with a muscle problem, which he picked up last season.
It was the second time the Nigerian had sat out a league this season.
He has only punched in Twenty-eight minutes of league football this season, but in fairness has also done very little in the team’s European campaign.
In the home and away legs of Slavia Prague’s UEFA Champions League qualifying matches, the Forward who is an important member of the team has only managed to play a combined 60 minutes.
Meanwhile, at the weekend summer signing Ubong Ekpai featured for the entire duration of the 2-0 win against Boleslav.
The Czech Republic signed the wide attacker at the end of last season as a free agent.
He has made two appearances in the league this season but is yet to feature in the team’s European campaign.
On Thursday they host Legia Warsaw in the first-leg of their UEFA Europa League play-off qualifiers.
