Injury blow for Etebo, Out for four months and set to miss AFCON in January

Peter Etebo will likely miss next year’s Africa Cup of Nation in Cameroon after he picked up a quad muscle injury that will keep him out for at least four months.

Etebo, who is on loan at Watford, picked up the injury during last weekend’s PL match against Newcastle.
He was replaced during the game in the 75th minute and Watford confirmed the injury on Thursday.
A statement on club’s website read:
Midfielder Peter Etebo tore a quad muscle towards the end of the Newcastle United game last weekend and is expected to be out for between four to five months.
The 25 year-old has already been left out of Nigeria’s squad for the 2022 World Cup qualifiers against Central Africa Republic next month.
