Impressive forward Suleiman Abdullahi provided an assist for Union Berlin in the 2-0 victory over Hamburger SV in the German Bundesliga 2 on Sunday afternoon, reports Footballlive.ng.
The 22-year-old showed enough quality to pick out Robert Zulj who scored the first goal of the game with precision.
Abdullahi was replaced by Sebastian Polter with 17 minutes left on the clock.
Grischa Proemel sealed victory for the hosts against the under-performing Hamburger side at the Stadion An der Alten Försterei (Berlin).
Last summer, Union Berlin reached an agreement with Eintracht Braunschweig that saw Abdullahi move to the Bundesliga 2 side on a season-long loan, with a buy option inserted into the agreement.
Everything is pointing to the fact that Abdullahi will be acquired on a permanent basis as Union Berlin paid a ‘huge amount’ of money as loan fee, which they need to recoup.
Since moving to Europe in February 2015, the 22-year-old attacker has scored 25 goals (18 assists) in 102 appearances for Viking, Eintracht Braunschweig and Union Berlin.
Two Nigerian players Chinedu Ede and Chibuike Okeke previously represented Union Berlin.
