Super Falcons striker Anam Imo came off the bench to open her scoring account for Rosengard in their 2-0 win over Pitea IF in the Swedish Dammallsvenskan on Thursday.
The win has taken Rosengard to first on the league ladder, four places above Pitea IF.
Rosengard, who have lost just once this season, shot into the lead through Johanna Rytting-Kaneryd in the 58th minute to send the Malmo IP into frenzy mood.
Imo was sent on by coach Jonas Eidevall as a replacement for German forward Anja Mittag in the 78th minute, and just seven minutes later the Nigerian forward hit the back of the net from close range to hand her side the three points.
The goal was the former Nasarawa Amazons forward’s first of the campaign.
Defender Faith Ikidi was in action for the reigning league champions in the match.
