Olympic Eagles assistant Head Coach Fidelis Ilechukwu admits the side was wasteful in front of goal in their first-leg defeat to Sudan in the Africa U23 Cup of Nations qualifier in Omdurman.
Sudan take a narrow 1-0 lead into the second-leg and can wrap up the tie if they pick a draw or avoid a heavy defeat, the latter Ilechukwu is certain the Eagles will do.
In chat with footballlive.ng, the Coach declared, confidently, Nigeria will “beat” their opponent on Tuesday.
“We are going to beat Sudan, though, it’s not going to be an easy game but we will beat them.
“In our last game, our players threw away a lot of chances and we are not happy. We are not happy.”
Nigeria, who are holders, will host the second-leg of the tie in Asaba and hope to reach the tournament proper.
