Ihenancho FA cup strike not enough as Liecester Crashes out


Kelechi Ihenancho came off the bench and scored for Liecester City, but the PL sode lost 2-1 to Blackburn Rovers, and crash out of the the English FA Cup.

Ihenancho’s strike was his 18th in the competition in 24 games, and he scored in less than 10 minutes of his introduction in the round of 16 fixture.

It was a show of defensive errors from the Foxes, Daniel Amartey was caught napping and his poor pass at the back was quickly capitalised on by Blackburn’s Tyrhys Dolan who fired a sumptuous strike to the far corner to give the Championship side the lead in the 33rd minute.

The visitors held on to their lead into the break and doubled the advantage through Sammie Szmodics.

Once again it was the Leicester defense that gifted Blackburn the goal as the Ireland star took advantage of some poor defensive shape to double the lead.

Kelechi Iheanacho was introduced and in less than ten minutes he found the back of the net with a one time finish from an Harvey Barnes pass.

The Nigerian forward was causinf lots of problems for the Blackburn defense as he brought about urgency, but the Foxes couldn’t not build on the advantage.

Blackburn held on to knockout Leicester City right in front of their home fans.
