Leicester City Manager, Brendan Rodgers has reiterated his stance that neither Kelechi Iheanacho nor any member of the squad will be sold in the January transfer window.
Iheanacho has rediscovered his form under Rodgers. He bagged one goal and one assist in Leicester’s 4-1 victory over Aston Villa at Villa Park last Sunday.
The Nigeria international also grabbed the headlines two weeks ago when he came off the bench against Everton to turn the game around for the Foxes, scoring one goal and contributing an assist.
The Super Eagles star has two goals in the Carabao Cup and that takes his goal tally to four in as many appearances which is double what he got last season under Rodgers and Claude Puel.
Before he returned to form, though, there had been reports linking him to Aston Villa and a Turkish SuperLig side, Besiktas come January.
Rodgers has however put such rumour to bed, saying:
“There will be nobody leaving in January, categorically. I’m speaking regularly with (director of football) Jon Rudkin and Top owner( Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha).
“It’s really clear we want to keep this squad together. It’s an exciting team with growth and development so we want to ensure they stay around beyond January.”
