Nigeria forward Odion Ighalo was on target for Shanghai Shenhua, but it was not enough to save the team from going down to Guangzhou R&F 2-1 in Chinese Super League clash on Friday.
Eran Zahavi opened the scoring Guangzhou R&F in the 65th minute, before the Nigerian scored from the penalty spot in the 90th minute to level the game for his side.
However Guangzhou R&F would have the last laugh, as an own-goal from Jianrong Zhu in added time gave rhe host side the three points.
Ighalo has now scored five goals for the Flore Sanchez side since arriving at the Club from relegated Changchun Yatai .
Shanghai Shenhua currently occupies 8th position on the Chinese Super League log with 6 points from 5 matches.
