Odion Ighalo was on target for Shanghai Shenhua in the 3-1 defeat to Jiangsu Suning at the Hongkou Football Stadium on Wednesday.
Ighalo, who scored his side’s only goal in their 2-1 defeat to Beijing Guoan last weekend, netted his 10th goals in 17 appearances for the Shanghai outfit.
He restored parity for Choi Kang-Hee’s side from the penalty spot just before the break to cancel out Ivan Santini’s opener for the visitors.
The visitors scored two goals in the second period to condemn Shanghai Shenhua to their fourth consecutive loss in the Chinese top-flight.
The result put Shanghai Shenhua 13th in the 16-team league with 30 points from 29 matches and are therefore safe from relegation.
Ighalo and his teammates will hope to end their Super League campaign with a win when they file out against league leaders Guangzhou Evergrande for their final fixture on Sunday.
