Just a few weeks after absolutely walloping Al-Duhail 7-0 in the semi-final of the AFC Champions League, Odion Ighalo and Al-Hilal were brought back to the reality of the Saudi Pro League.

Al Hilal saw their title chase cut back following the defeat (1-2) to Al-Fateh in the front of their home crowd, on Monday.

Ighalo was on for the entire duration of the match but was not able to influence the game as he was silenced throughout the game.

Former Barcelona winger Christian Tello opened the scoring in the 39th minute of the game, with Khalid Al-Ghannam providing a bit of assurance about the game by netting in the 80th minute.

Saleh Alshehri scored a consolation for the hosts deep in stoppage time, it was however too late to start a comeback.

The loss has now put a dent on Al Hilal’s title aspirations as they are now 5th on the log, but with two games in hand.
