Former Super Eagles goalkeeper Peterside Idah has advised the Nigeria Football Federation to relieve Gernot Rohr of his duties, adding that the German is not competent enough to take the team to greater heights.
The Port Harcourt born former goalkeeper shared his thoughts from his base in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The former Bordeaux manager, Rohr, guided Nigeria to the semifinal of the Africa Cup of Nations where they were defeated by the Desert Foxes of Algeria.
Football analysts and former players, including legendary Segun Odegbami, have been critical of the German’s tactics and capacity, especially after the Super Eagles’ embarrassing loss to debutants Madagascar.
Peterside, a renowned football pundit, have now added his voice to a growing concern.
He said “With all due respect, Rohr should step aside, with all the support he got, he should be doing better, our team has all it takes to conquer Africa, but Rohr is not looking like a man who has the knowledge”.
