Technical Adviser, Akwa Ibom State Female Football Team, Ibom Angels, Coach Whyte Agbonda has boasted his side would win this year Aiteo Cup irrespective of any opponents posed against them in the semi finals.
Ibom Angels are in the semi final of the 2019 Aiteo Cup competition and the team on Sunday,30 June,2019,at Abakaliki Sports Stadium, defeated Kogi Confluence Queens by two unreplied goals to be in her third consecutive semi finals.
Glory Ogboona, opened scoring in the 34 minutes of the game with a direct free kick that slipped through the hands of the Confluence Queens goal keeper to make it one nil in the first half.
According to the former Confluence Queens handler, the introduction of new signing for Ibom Angels,Koku Damilola in the second half of the encounter to replace Blessing Okon saw her netting in a powerful connecting header to make it two nil for Orange Ladies at the 71 minutes.
The Orange Ladies,who took the game tactically through the instructions from the technical crew of the team saw early replacement of Ogoma Joseph in the first half to bring in Precious Edewor who later controlled the midfield.
Ibom Angels will tackle same Confluence Queens in the league opener on Wednesday,17July,2019 in Lokoja,Kogi State.
Confluence Queens is currently handled by Ibom Angels immediate past Coach,Whyte Ogbonda.
