Bruno Onyemaechi has opened up on life in the Portuguese first division with Boavista and how playing for the club has impacted his career positively.

Onyemaechi joined Boavista on loan from second division outfit Feirense, and has been a regular either in the middle of the park or as a left-back, racking up 27 league appearances and 3 cup appearances.

The LB has also contributed 2 goals and 1 assist this season. The team is 10th in the Liga Portugal and they have a slim chance of securing the Europa Conference League qualification spot.

Onyemaechi expressed satisfaction on a individual and team basis on the progress made so far.

“In general terms, the season is going well,” Onyemaechi said. “Although we all feel that for what we have been demonstrating on the field, we deserved to have more points earned. In this regard, we can no longer do anything, and now we want to end the season well.

“There are still nine points to win and we will continue to do our best to get the best possible ranking.”

Personally, Onyemaechi has been very influential for Boavista this season and despite playing most of it out of position, the midfielder revealed that the left-back position is one that he enjoys playing and is willing to help the team while gaining valuable playing time to aid his development.

He also revealed that the club is perfect for his development and the players have everything needed to focus solely on delivering results without leaving out the love and passion shown by its fans.

“I feel like I’m having a good time. I gained more experience and evolved in all aspects of my game. I am more confident and I believe this is reflected in the field.

“I really like the left defence position, I think that’s where I give the most, but I will always be at the coach’s disposal to play in other positions. The truth is that this versatility is also an aspect that can benefit me, as well as the team.”

“We have all the conditions to focus only on the game and training, but we also feel that the requirement is daily on the part of everyone, which ends up helping us to be better. I am very happy to represent a club with such a great history.
