Nigeria’s win over South Africa was not unexpected according to Ahmed Musa after the Super Eagles progressed to the semi-final of the AFCON courtesy a 2-1 victory on Wednesday at the Cairo International Stadium.

Musa spoke after the win, revealing the team’s pre-game expectations and the eventual outcome.

“My feeling about the game is that, We’re happy that at the end we won, so that’s the most important.

“The game was very difficult and we didn’t expect an easy win, but finally we won and that is the most important thing.

“We expected to win, but we had to keep our head down; we had the first goal and they equalized in the second half. We knew the goal would come and we just had to wait and be patient. Finally before the 90th minute we got a goal,” Musa explained.
