In a thrilling encounter at Lang Park, Brisbane, Osinachi Ohale was named Player of the Match after her stellar performance in Nigeria’s remarkable 3-2 victory against Australia in the FIFA Women’s World Cup, on Thursday.

Ohale played a pivotal role in the Super Falcons’ victory, scoring the team’s second goal in the five-goal thriller.

 

 

The 31 year-old’s moment came when she headed home from close range after McKenzie Arnold deflected Asisat Oshoala’s header into her path.

This crucial goal marked only the her second ever strike for the nine-time African champions.

Her defensive prowess and timely contribution in the attack transition earned her a well-deserved recognition as the Player of the Match.

The CB’s outstanding performance and leadership at the back played a significant role in securing Nigeria’s first win at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
