Super Eagles striker Kelechi Iheanacho has revealed the reason behind his move to Leicester City from Premier League giants Manchester City.

In a chat with Leicester city TV Iheanacho has earlier revealed that he developed fears to move to Manchester city but he was encouraged and blessed by his father.

Kelechi Iheanacho revealed that the managerial change in Manchester City was a factor in his decision to move to Leicester as Pep Guardiola did not count on him as much Manuel Pellegrini did.

After netting 21 goals and 8 assists in 64 appearances for the Sky Blue, the Nigerian wasn’t short of options.

He said that Leicester City’s Premier League victory in the 2015-2016 season also informed his decision to pick Foxes as his destination after leaving Manchester City.

The 26 year-old Forward also cited the presence of fellow Super Eagles player Wilfried Ndidi as another important factor.

“Everything changed at Manchester City so I had to find somewhere else,” He explained. “There were a couple of options and clubs, but Leicester City was the one for me.

“It’s crazy because when I was playing at Man City, I supported Leicester as well in the season they won the league because it was fantastic what they did. When they won the trophy, I was celebrating, I was happy.

“I thought it would be a good move for me to go there and a place where I would enjoy my football.

“It’s a family club with lovely people. My family and everyone around me supported it and they said it would be a very good place to go.

“He (Wilfred Ndidi) came in January that season, so I knew he was there. I didn’t get to speak to him but knowing my friend was there was nice. If I needed any support or anything, I knew he would tell me.”
