Kevin Akpoguma returned to action for Hoffenheim after serving his one-game ban for accumulation of cards, but the Team don’t seem like they have turned the corner as they recorded another big defeat.
Hoffenheim were hammered 3-1 by RB Leipzig in the DFB-Pokal round of 16 match at the Red Bull Arena on Wednesday night.
Akpoguma, was replaced after the break by Thomas Delany, with the score line reading 2-0 in favor of the hosts.
Emil Forsberg gave RB Leipzig the lead in the 8th minute before Konrand Laimer double it in the 41st minute.
Subsequently the visitors pulled one back, Kasper Dolberg with a goal in the 76th minute, but Timo Werner restored Leipzig’s two-goal lead with the match-winner.
The defeat condemned Hoffenheim to their Seventh loss in Nine games across all competitions and their winless streak also stretches further.
Meanwhile, they’ll get another chance to have a go at ending the rot when they host VfL Bochum this Saturday in the Bundesliga.
David Okereke was pivotal for Cremonese as they saw off Jose Mourinho's Roma 2-1, to grab their first league victory of the season to end an awful run of 30 games without a league win.
