Gift Orban made history on Wednesday as his one-man show inspired KAA Gent to a 4-1 win over Istanbul Basaksehir in the UEFA Europa Conference League.

Orban netted a first-half hat-trick, and it was recorded as the fastest in a UEFA Club Competition.

The 20-year-old scored in minutes 31, 32 and 34 then Hugo Cuypers added a fourth goal in the 37th minute to close a massive lead in the first half.

Başakşehir found an answer late in the second half, but it was too little too late, and Gent secured their passage through to the quarter-final of the competition, progressing 5-2 on aggregate.

Last weekend, the youngster, who is a January import from Norwegian second division side Stabæk, scored four times to seal his side’s maximum points in the 6-2 win against Zulte Waregem.

So far, he has 12goals in 9appearances (Jupiler League 5apps 7goals and UECL 4apps 5goals) for Gent.
