Abia Warriors head coach, Henry Makinwa has reportedly resigned his position at the Club after long hour of meeting with the Club’s hierarchy on Thursday evening.
Abia Warriors are currently placed 13th in the Group B log of the Nigeria Professional Football League and won just one of their last five matches in the league , which has left the Club in unhealthy position retaining their premier league status.
Footballlive.ng understands that the former ABS of Ilorin handler has informed the Club’s senior players of his decision to quit and move his career on away from the club.
The embattled Makinwa has reportedly submitted his resignation letter to the management of the Club who had advised him in the meeting to quit his position with the Club or stay on and be sacked .
The Club expressed their lack of trust in the gaffer to lead them out of the current situation and thereby decided to end their association with the gaffer.
“The management and the technical crew held a crisis meeting to review the performance of the club, at the meeting the coach was advised to resign before the management sacked him. He had two options, to stay on and get sack by the management or resign to stay clean on his profile. At the end he decided to move on and sacrifice his job”
