HEARTLAND FC ROSE UP TO THE OCCASION AT NNEWI

Heartland football club of Owerri was at their best once again as they rose up to the occasion to go past hard fighting FC Ifeanyi Ubah at their home the Ifeanyi Ubah Stadium Nnewi.

The Naze Millionaires who lost their last home game against neighbors Abia Warriors that put them in a difficult corner heading to the game against the Anambra Warriors.
The crucial game which kicked off amidst a tensed atmosphere saw the Naze Millionaires commence proceedings with a technical footing and maintained it until the 28 minute when top striker Chinonso Okonkwo powered a right foot in front of the opponents 18 yard box to give his side the lead.
The game continued with few pressures from the home side but was contained by Owerri side to take their lead into the dressing room at the end of the first 45 minutes.
The second stanza of the game  commenced with the Owerri landlords taking it to the homers
 with several incursions into their goal area which resulted to a free-kick that was well struck by Uche Oguchi in 53rd minute to give the Owerri landlords their second making it    2 goals to Nil.
The screamer hurt the Anambra Warriors who came out smoking pilling more pressure consistently until the 73rd minute when  Uche Ihuarulam tapped in a goal mouth scramble to reduce the tally for his side.
They continued with the  pressure but the Naze Millionaires stood their ground to take it to full time to secure the vital away win that  tamed the difficulty posed by the  loss against the Umuahia landlords with the win Heartland now return to the 7th position with 28 points ahead of Abia Warriors and Plateau United who are on 8th and 9th position respectively.
Technical Adviser of the team Mahnet Tayfun expressed delight over the win and said the battle is won but the war rages    as his lads can still repeat same feet in Gombe to consolidate their stay on the log before their last home game against El kanemi Warriors of Maiduguri.
Captain of the side Uche Oguchi said the result is what they promised themselves to recover the 3 points they dropped at home last Sunday and push further to stay firm on the league towards the end of the season.
The Naze Millionaires  will head to the pantani Stadium to squire up against the Gombe landlords next Sunday.
