Super Eagles head Coach, Jose Peseiro is risking punishment from CAF following his tirade against the match officials in Nigeria’s 1-0 defeat to Guinea-Bissau on Friday.

Guinea-Bissau stunned Nigeria 1-0 in the Africa Cup of Nations first-leg qualifier in Abuja, but the Portuguese argues Egyptian Referee Mahmoud El Banna was bad on the day.

Peseiro identified three areas in particular where the Match official had faltered in his calls; should have given longer stoppage time, didn’t give a red for malicious tackle on Kevin Akpoguma and ignoring a genuine penalty call when Victor Osimhen was fouled in the box.

The open criticism of Match officials is a violation in CAF’s Competition rule book, and the Super Eagles could be facing charges should his conduct warrant the Football Body scrutinizing the comments.

In his remark to the question about the head injury to Akpoguma, the 64 year-old said, “That situation (Akpoguma’s head Injury) should have been a red card, but the opponent got just a yellow.

“Also, normally we should have gotten 10minutes added time for the injury and other stoppages, we had genuine penalty claims, but I don’t know what this Egyptian Referee had in mind.

“He didn’t do a good job.”
