Napoli bounced back to Winning ways in the Serie A following Saturday’s 2-0 victory against Atalanta at the Estádio Diego Armando Maradona.

Last week, Napoli’s seven-game winning streak, in all competitions, was halted in a home defeat to Lazio, but Luciano Spalletti’s men responded with the right attitude.

Despite a cagey first half which also produced no goals, the League leaders did not relent, and on the hour mark were rewarded.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia profited off a ball from Victor Osimhen, to break the deadlock and put the hosts ahead in the 60th minute.

Amir Rrahmani got the second (77′) as the team picked up the goalscoring duties, with Osimhen getting a lot of attention lately from the Opposition defenders.

The Striker remains on 19goals (4assists) and now from 22 appearances in the league.

On the day he had picked up a yellow card in the early exchanges in the first half, and played on for 85minutes before he was subbed off for Giovanni Simeone.

Meanwhile, his fellow countryman, Ademola Lookman came off the bench as a second half substitute (89′) with the game game already lost.

As a result of the win, Napoli restored their 18points lead atop the Serie A standings with 12 round of matches left this season.

On the other hand, Gian Piero Gasperini and Atalanta will continue their chase for a top four spot. Currently, the team is five points off a Champions League spot, holding on to 6th position on the log.
