Hamdi Akujobi joined Dutch side SC Heerenveen on a three-year contract on Friday morning.
In the summer of 2018, Akujobi who was dropped from Paul Aigbogun’s side for the U-20 African Cup of Nations in Niger made the switch from Spartaan ’20 to SC Heerenveen.
Gerry Hamstra, technical manager of the Dutch side said they are pleased to secure the signing of the 19 year old.
“We are pleased that today we have again been able to capture a player from the youth for the longer term. Hamdi has developed well this season. He is a talented player with a great deal of duel power, a good fit and with an eye for monitoring the balance in midfield. ”
Akujobi has both a Dutch and Nigerian passport and will join Nigeria Under U-20 Squad in Germany for the preparation of the World Cup that will take place in Poland in May and June.
