Amos Gyang believes the secret to Plateau United’s 3-0 win over Akwa United was matching the effort of the Peace Boys.
Goals from Jesse Akila, Bernard Ovoke and Gyang gave the Peace Boys the maximum points in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) week 16 game on Sunday.
“It was important not to concede a goal and we have played very well, with great intensity,” the winger began in a chat with Footballlive.ng.
“We’ve come out strong for the match and that’s what we have to do in the remaining matches of the season.
“We know that Akwa United have great players and play with a lot of intensity in their game. Their Coach requires them to give a lot.
Gyang added that a large part of Plateau United’s game plan was centred around coping with the pressing of Akwa United.
“We knew they were strong at pressing so we tried to change the game, develop down the flanks with the full-backs and play with a lot of intensity,” he revealed.
