Iyayi Believe Atiemwen was an observer at the weekend and watched the entire 90 minutes of Gorica’s 1. HNL home match against Osijek.
Gorica settled for a 1-1 draw closing out a league season that feel short of expectation, but wasn’t entirely disappointing for Atiemwen.
The 26 year-old Forward featured nine times for the Three-time Croatian Champions and netted twice – 5 goals shy of the team’s joint top scorers in the league.
Gorica finished in 6th position with no possibility of European football next season, but the Nigerian striker, who is on loan from GNK Dinamo Zagreb – after a brief spell at Omonia Nicosia – could play in the UEFA Champions League.
Dinamo Zagreb were crowned league winners and will start their UCL campaign next season from the second qualifying round.
Atiemwen is contracted to the club until 2024, but it’s uncertain if he will return to Zagreb for another shot.
