Gombe vs Remo ends in Chaos as Visitors snatch away Win

It’s was all drama at the Pantami stadium as Remo stars snatched all three points at the death from Gombe United to end their home unbeaten run since 2019.

But the match was marred by fans violence, as Remo stars got away with a valuable 1-0 victory thanks to an 89th minute strike from Andy Okpe.

It was an evenly contested affair when both teams clashed as fans were treated to end to end football.

After a goalless first half, Gombe were awarded a penalty in the 54th minute but Christian Molokwu failed to convert from the spot, they would end up paying dearly for the miss.

However, the beautiful game was marred by violence as fans didn’t take the result kindly and resorted to violence.

The homes fans hauled missiles at Remo players, and they had to be escorted off the pitch by armed security personnel.

Also gunshots were fired, but there’s been no official confirmation by the League management body on the incident.

However, it was an important victory for Remo Stars as they have now won their opening two games and are second only behind Bendel Insurance in Group A.
