Godwin Excited about Super Eagles Chance


Casa Pia winger, Saviour Godwin spoke about his excitement with making his unofficial debut for the Nigeria in the 2-2 draw against Algeria B.

Godwin impressed in the test game and will be hoping he has done enough to earn his first cap when Nigeria take on Algeria’s senior team on Tuesday.

“It’s amazing for me to play my first game with the Super Eagles, I feel excited,” the Winger said after the game.

“We had a test game and this is good for everyone for us to get to know each other and get ourselves better.

“It was an amazing outing for me and collectively as a team, I feel this is a very good test game for us. ”

He also spoke on the impact that head Coach, Jose Peseiro has had on the team revealing the Portuguese coach charged the team to treat each game as a final.

“Before the game, he said this and that is what we went into the pitch with, with the mindset of winning.”

Saviour also commented on the upcoming clash against the Algeria A team and revealed that they will approach the game with the mindset of winning the match.

“Algeria is a big team; they’re one of the finest in Africa. Of course, when we go into the pitch we want to win and I think it’s going to be a really good game for us.

“We want to win and we are surely going to win the game.”
