Gerrard praises Aribo, rues dropped points against Motherwell

Leon Balogun was rested, an unused substitute for Rangers on Sunday while Joe Aribo played the entire duration and also got an assist in the match between Rangers and Motherwell in the Scottish Premiership League.

Aribo set up his Zambian teammate Fashion Sakala with an early goal, just 12 minutes into the game.
The Nigerian got some positive review from the manager Steven Gerrard for his teamwork with other midfield players.
But the former England international rued the missed chances, lack of creativity and allowing the visitors back in the game.
“It’s two points dropped there’s no way getting away from there. I think Box-to-box Today we played some outstanding stuff, when we got there, we got there on numerous occasions but our last pass our final cross, when it was taking our chances, we just wasn’t there Today,” said Gerrard.
“So we’ve got ourselves to blame and when you don’t get that second goal you lose that control and you’ve always got that chance to be vulnerable at the back and we haven’t defended that situation well at all, so we’ve got ourselves to blame.”
“I thought Joe Aribo, Glen Kamara today, Steven Davis a lot of players from box-to-box today we played some incredible stuff.
“Our preparation to build the attack was up there with the best we have, but when you get past the box you need someone to find them moments of quality to create goals, to assist goals and then to even score them, that for me today was a 3 or 4 nil game.
“When you don’t get a second at their goal you leave yourself vulnerable at the back. We haven’t defended one situation well in the second half and well we’ve paid for them.”
