German Bundesliga: Ujah in action as Mainz suffer third straight defeat

Date:

Striker Anthony Ujah was in action for Mainz as they lost 3-0 to VFL Wolfaburg on Saturday, ensuring the visitors suffered their third loss on the trot in the German Bundesliga.

Maximilian Arnold, Wout Weghorst and Robin Knoche found the back of the net for the rampant hosts at the Volkswagen Arena.

Ujah, 28, couldn’t make much impact after he was thrown into the fray for the less effective Jean-Paul Boetius in the 74th minute of play.

Nigerian born striker Karim Onisiwo came off the bench on the hour mark in a game that Mainz put every foot wrong.

The result in the away fixture will be a source of concern for coach Sandro Schwarz who is under pressure after three straight losses.
