Akeem Busari has tendered his resignation letter as the chief coach of Gateway United FC following a 2-3 home loss to Nnewi United in the match day three of the 2018/2019 Nigeria National League season.
Gateway has failed to transfer their pre-season form into the season, with the Club failing to win a game so far this season in the Nigeria National League (NNL)).
The team began the season on a disappointing note , drawing 0-0 at home to Ekiti United, followed by another goalless draw away to Dynamite in the matchday two.
The disappointing results continues , losing the Ogun State FA Cup final to amateur side Almaar FC last Sunday, before succumbing to another home defeat to a bottom placed Nnewi United on Wednesday.
Coach Busari who was appointed in November 2017 tendered his resignation letter on Thursday, appreciating the management of the club for their support since he took over the club since November 2017.
He once served as a technical adviser at Shooting Stars of Ibadan, as well as the technical assistance to Golden Eaglets of Nigeria in 2004 and 2006 respectively among others.
