Gasperini heaps praise on Lookman

Atalanta coach Gian Piero Gasperini has praised Ademola Lookman for the Winger’s impact in their 2-0 victory over Monza in Monday’s Serie A fixture.

Lookman was impressive on the night as he assisted Rasmus Højlund for Atalanta’s first goal and thought he had scored, but his effort was reviewed before it was awarded as an Own goal for his side’s second goal.

Atalanta invested heavily on youngsters during the summer and signed the Nigerian star from RB Leipzig for €15 million and the decision is proving to be a major hit with the player himself admitting to be settling down well in Italy.

“The fans can enjoy this great moment, we know we have a lot of work ahead of the next games,”Gasperini said after the game.

“We have a lot of options that are working well. Højlund scored, Soppy played an excellent game, like Ederson and Lookman.”

Atalanta sits top of the Serie A table after 5 rounds of games.
