Chelsea midfielder, Lesley Ugochukwu has received a call-up to the France U21 national team coached by Thierry Henry.

In his first act as coach of the France U21’s, Henry has selected 23 players for upcoming international fixtures including a friendly against Denmark and the commencement of the EURO Qualifiers in Slovenia.

Ugochukwu makes the leap from the U19 level, and notably he was under consideration for inclusion in the France U20 squad for the 2023 FIFA U20 World Cup, but his club at the time, Rennes, did not grant permission due to ongoing commitments in Ligue 1.

The 2023 Golden Boy nominee has an impressive track record, having participated in a total of eighteen matches for France’s U18 and U19 national teams, notching three goals.

Ugochukwu, recently made headlines with his move to Chelsea, and has already made three appearances for the club since his transfer last month.
