Five Nigerians were in action during the weekend’s Eliteserien game between Strømsgodset IF and Lillestrøm SK.
Strømsgodset IF won 3-0 at their Marienlyst Stadion grounds and their Nigerian CM Jack Ipalibo opened scoring.
Ipalibo netted his second goal of the season with a powerful header in the 53rd minute to break the deadlock and put his side ahead.

Goals from Kristoffer Tokstad (76′) and a Lars-Jörgen Salvesen stoppage time strike (90+7′) decided the game.
But, the more interesting fact about the teams was the matchday squad, which had five Nigerian players and all got minutes.
Strømsgodset IF Manager also listed Fred Friday alongside the former Villarreal player Ipalibo. The veteran Forward came off the bench in the final 10 minutes of the game.
Meanwhile the visitors had Akor Adams, Ifeanyi Matthew and Igoh Ogbu all named as starters.
