Former Super Eagles head coach and NFF Technical Director, Austin Eguavoen has revealed the plans to have scouts who can identify talents all over the country by the NFF.

Speaking on Brila FM’s “The Big Interview” Eguavoen revealed that a proposal has been submitted to the NFF and it has been adopted and that it is in the works as it is very vital in the body’s strive for excellence.

“We have put in proposals and this present board has adopted it. We are going to try to see how we can bring in a lot of scouts; people who are knowledgeable about the game.

“What we seek we will inform them; tell them what we want, and then we can have scouts all over the six geo-political zones who can start scouting from schools and different categories.

“The scouting department is key, and they also have to be computer-literate. We will always sit down and analyse players individually and collectively and then make some headway, yes, that is one of the things in our agenda also. It is key to success because the more information you get about something, the better it is for you, information is key.”

“This move will be vital in developing the sport in the country, as we will now have a database of the best talents possible, through experts with good talent identification to help in the selection process for the various national teams at every level.”
