Former Super Eagles Forward blames Troost-Ekong in part for Watford defeat to Brighton

William Troost-Ekong has come under criticism for his role in Watford’s defeat to Brighton the English Premier League match at he weekend.

Former Nigeria and Norwich forward Efan Ekoku fingered Ekong as the guilty party in the team’s struggle at the Amex Stadium.
The 27 year-old CB attempted a pass from the back, but it was intercepted by Yves Bissouma, who then played in Neal Maupay.
Maupay (41′) added to Shane Duffy’s (10′) opener which ensured a first-half lead and eventually three points in the game.
In his reaction to the Nigerian’s performance, Ekoku who also played for Wimbledon in the PL knocked the Watford man.
‘Just can’t do this against players of the quality of Yves Bissouma. Talked about the timing of the challenges,’ Ekoku told SuperSport.
‘Look at the speed at which he recovered the ball away from Tom Cleverley. Horrible pass from Troost-Ekong and that is a smart finish from Neal Maupay, gives the goalkeeper the eyes. It is not an easy finish, most of the credit has got to go to Bissouma.’
