Former Super Eagles technical adviser, Lars Lagerback has joined the soccer world in showering praises on Manchester City’s manager, Pep Guardiola, whose side rained goals against Schalke 04 of Germany in the UEFA Champions League.

With Pep looking good to take City to back-to-back conquests of the English Premier League, footballlive.ng can report that Lagerback is awed by the Spanish tactician’s style.

Lagerback, who handled Nigeria to an underwhelming outing at the first World Cup on Africa soil, a group stage ouster at South Africa 2010, is now tipping Guardiola for greater things at Etihad Stadium.

Incidentally, Lagerback is now head coach of Norway, who will face one of his admired gaffers, Luis Enrique of Spain, in his first match with his new team, and he admits La Armada now have a man like Guardiola in charge.

Largeback added: “What Enrique has done at club level – and having had mostly good results with Spain – he is certainly one.

“The coach I have the most respect for whom I’ve met is Pep Guardiola. That’s definitely a coach who has a special form of leadership.
“He really wants to organise and push the team in every game they play. I’ve also seen him coach the team and I have a lot of respect for him.”
