Former PSG defender, Jerome Rothen has criticized the decision of the Ligue 1 champions to go after Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen.

Rothen believes PSG’s move for Osimhen, who had previously worked with Christophe Galtier, is a convenient choice which may not end up as productive.

The former defender explained that Osimhen’s move is an easy choice, but doubts if his history with the Club’s current Technical Director and Manager are enough reasons to spend big for the €100 million-rated Striker.

“He is one of the best attackers in Europe today. But for me, this idea comes from a place of ease. Luis Campos and Christophe Galtier had him in Lille and they think that automatically he will also work in Paris.”

Renato Sanches, an ex-Lille midfielder who joined PSG for €15 million in the summer, has struggled to adapt to life in Paris, according to Rothen, who also called the Portuguese international “a bit lost”.
