Former Nigeria and Barcelona player, Gbenga Okunnowo says Flying Eagles coach Ladan Bosso deserves support and less antagonisms.
Bosso, despite finishing third at the last CAF U20 Africs.Cup of Nations as well as qualifying for the FIFA U20 World Cup later, has constantly dealt with criticism owing to the performance of his team among other reasons.
The 55 year-old is criticized for numerous allegations including inducements from players to get invitation to the National team or even get to play.
In an interview with Ifeanyi Udeze on the morning show “No Holds Barred”.on Brila FM, Gbenga Okunnowo, who played for the national team when Ladan Bosso was the trainer at that time, has leapt to the Coach’s defence.
Okunnowo urged fans to stick to the facts concerning the Coach and avoid being drawn into vilifying the Coach and his team over misguided sentiments.
“I know him as a man who is highly disciplined and does not believe in such stories,” the former CB said.
“We should throw our weight of support behind the Coach and the team as they head into the World Cup, believe it goes a long way to help players.”
