The Football Intermediary Association of Nigeria on Friday 5th and Saturday 6th, April 2019 successfully held the 2019 Nigeria Football Summit and Its Inaugural Annual General Meeting respectively.
Major highlights of the event was the revelation that football academies in Nigeria at time serve as a conduit for human traffickers, with major stakeholder, NAPTIP the government agency responsible for curbing such declaring its readiness to work with the association to curb the criminal activities.
Also at the two day event were the TMS Manager and NFF Legal Officer, Mallam Nasiru Jubril and Barr. Okey Obi respectively who expressed the Nigeria Football Federation readiness to partner with FIAN to further protect the interest of football players in Nigeria even has they encouraged the football intermediaries to stay conversant with constantly change FIFA Regulations of working with Football Intermediary to avoid running foul of the law.
Professional footballer were also well represented with NANPF general secretary, Austin Popo stating during one of the sessions that the players are also very ready to work with members of FIAN and the NFF as several contractual issues currently faced by professional football players especially in the Nigeria Professional Football League would have been avoided if both players and club engaged the services of FIAN Members.
Day two of the event which was mainly centered around FIAN’s Inaugural AGM was also as eventful with the highlight being the dissolution of the association’s acting executives and the swearing in of the association first elected executive in an election conducted by an electorate committee led by former Mighty Jets Winger and member of FIAN, Barr. Emmanuel Etsu Nyabam with two other FIAN members Yakassi Idriss and Clinton Erefo completing the committee.

While the congress unanimously agreed that position of Legal Officers be left vacant in the meantime.
Elected executive had since be sworn in and started acting in their respective capacities as the look to grow the association and also provide a brighter future for the players they represent.
