Five months later the 2023 NPFL regular season has ended and the real hostilities begin in June when the playoff gets underway.

Six teams; the top three from groups A and B will compete for the league title and continental spots in CAF’s interclub competitions for next season.

There weren’t many surprises besides Bendel Insurance who brought the curtains down on the first phase of their league campaign with an unbeaten record.

Insurance wrapped up the regualar season with 8 wins and 10 draws; only holders Rivers United equalled their points tally (34points) in 18 games.

The club gained promotion from the NNL last season, and impressed with their performance in the abridged league season, finishing top of group A.

Remo Stars and 8-time league winners, Enyimba complete the qualifying teams.

In group B, Rivers United expectedly finished top, while Lobi Stars and Sunshine Stars complete the playoff bracket.

The teams reconvene on June 3 for the kick off of the Championship playoff in Lagos.
