First PL start, First goal for Iheanacho

Kelechi Iheanacho has had a torrid beginning of the season, as he is often looked over in favour of veteran striker Jamie Vardy, last making Leicester City starting lineup in the EFL clash against lowly Stockport County.

There have been calls for Leicester City boss, Brendan Rodgers, to drop the English man in favour of other options and he yielded to the calls by starting Kelechi Iheanacho alongside Patson Daka against Brighton and both strikers responded with goals.

It took the Nigerian just under a minute to get on the score sheet as a beautiful exchange from Youri Tielemans and Harvey Barnes released Daka on the left flank who then sent a low drive into the box and unto the feet for Iheanacho who happily slammed it home.

Unfortunately, Leicester could not capitalise on their lightening start as Brighton got back on level terms with an own goal from Luke Thomas (10′), and it marked the start of many as the Sea Gulls went on to score 4 more goals to condemn Leicester city to the bottom of the table with 1 point from 6 games.

Daka (33′) got a goal of his own to level going into the break after Moises Caicedo (15′) put Brighton ahead.

In the second half, goals from Leandro Trossard, a brace from Mac Allister (71′, 90+7′) including one from the penalty spot after Wilfred Ndidi’s foul on Trossard, ensured Brighton defeated Leicester city roundly, 5-2.
